Get a taste of the most bitchin’ era of muscle cars ever produced when you find yourself going back in time behind the wheel of this 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z-28. And yes, it’s an X77-coded real deal car with incredible documentation, including the original bill of sale and factory “Protect-O-Plate”! So get ready to bid on this spectacular example of classic muscle and relive the glory days when the hammer drops, and you’re the winning bidder.

Cortez Silver is always a drop-dead-sexy choice for a late 60s muscle car. Now don the roof with a period-correct black vinyl top, a muscular cowl induction hood, Z-28 quarter fins, a Z-28 rear spoiler, and then lay down two black rally stripes and you, my friend, have the sexiest car in town. There’s no denying that Chevrolet did it right with the styling on the last year of the Gen 1 Camaro. She’s sporting the correct 15” Chevrolet Rally Wheels with the clean chrome rings and center caps that are still in great shape. And of course, these Rally Wheels are wrapped in the only acceptable performance tire option back then: the infamous BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires, ready to burn off all that excess rubber.

If there was one thing that all Americans demanded in the 60s, it was style. Lucky for us, the GM designers heard and heeded this call. And they unveiled one of the most iconic factory options of all time, the houndstooth interior. Fused with black vinyl, this design is one of the greatest finishing touches ever. And it’s what you’ll be seated in as you row the gears with that chrome Muncie shifter while the wood grain dash and stock dash bring this interior together to create sheer muscular excellence. The original-style gauges are a sophisticated two-tier system. Your secondary gauges are tucked into the center console: fuel, oil, temp, and battery. Necessary readings but not the fun ones. No, those Chevy kept at eye level for racing purposes. A 120 MPH speedo sits to the left, while an 8,000 RPM gauge sits on the right, and a classy clock is nestled in between them both. Damn, this car is so cool!

The Camaro Z-28 has no issues running that tach up with the potent 302 V8 engine between the fender wells. Chevrolet wasn’t building just another car to sell to the masses; nope, this car was built to race. SCCA Trans Am rules limited engine displacement to no more than 5.0 liters, or 305 badass cubic inches. So after taking a 327 block and dropping in a 283 crank, they landed on the magical 302 that could rev and go like hell.

A Holley carb feeds funnels fuel and cold air down into the Winters Aluminum intake manifold. A pair of aluminum Double Hump heads expel exhaust through high-performance headers. The legendary Muncie 4-speed transmission makes your day a whole lot better as you power through the gears and keep sending that power down the line to a 12-bolt posi rear end outfitted with 3:73 gears.

She is about as clean on the underside as she is up top. The care taken in the restoration, preservation, and storage shows. To make driving easier, this is a power car. Power steering makes spinning the wheel a breeze while power brakes are light on the foot. It has a stock configuration of disc brakes and coil springs up front, and drums with leaf springs out back.

This Z-28 Camaro might fool some into thinking she’s bone stock, but she’s ready to rock. Don’t miss your chance at owning one of the finest examples of what a cared-for and carefully restored Chevrolet is on the road. So after you win this auction, take the keys, find an old road, blast some tunes, bang the gears, and feel what it’s truly like to go back in time.
