If you’re in need of a hit of something good, something that’ll rattle that soul of yours and remind you why we love classic cars, then do yourself a favor and listen to the big block on this ‘74 Corvette. This week’s Weekly Spec is covering a bad-ass ride that’s designed to break the necks of both onlookers and whoever is planted inside of this rocket ship as it tears through the gears.

History:
This Corvette was custom built at the legendary Corvette Conspiracy shop in Cleveland, Ohio. Corvette Conspiracy specialized in ‘Vettes and turned out one killer build after another over 52 years, with this restomod being built about 15 years ago. After its completion, it was featured in the Sept. ‘22 issue of Corvette Magazine, the same year the shop closed down. A private seller out of South Carolina is listing this beautiful sports car and has quite an incredible build that can be yours!

Exterior:
Be ready for chins to drop as people realize this body is seamless, with all gaps filled, creating a one-piece body to drool over. The builder didn’t stop there as they bolted on a hood scoop which force feeds the big-block with a custom cold air induction system. A seamless black stripe runs the length of the scoop, leaving little to the imagination about the size of the motor that powers her. She’s sitting on a set of 20” Billet Specialties aftermarket wheels that are wrapped in 245/35ZR20 front rubber and a wider 295/35ZR20 in the rear to keep you planted and make this thing go! This ride is for those that don’t only mind attention but demand it. How could you ever miss the custom Yellow Pearl paint glimmering in the sun? Hint: they won’t, and that’s what we love about custom cars.

Interior:
Custom interiors can range from out-of-this-world custom to simple and polite. This car straddles that line with a stock-appearing, black leather kit that will have you racing through the glory days when you’re seated in this classic Corvette. A gorgeous walnut steering wheel serves as an effortless accent to the black mystique, with a grip you can grip as you rip the timeless chrome shifter. While the looks are original, the car sports modern gauges with carbon-fiber-style Dakota Digital VHX instruments. Comfort and performance are the name of the game in this cockpit.

Suspension & Brakes:
All show and no go? Hell no! And definitely not with this suspension setup. A custom Street Shop chassis, built for this ride, lurks beneath the sunfire surface. A 1996 C4 Corvette independent front and rear suspension is bolstered by Viking Coil shocks at each corner. Steering has been significantly improved by a power rack-and-pinion system. The Hydroboost hydraulic braking system from Wilwood will bring you to a stop in a hurry. It’s abundantly clear that this setup was well thought out and then executed, a sign of a masterclass build.

Drivetrain:
Yes, I’ve saved the best for last. The hard part is that there is so much to cover under the hood. It’s not just the massive size of the big block 540, pushing 750 hp at the crank while nestled tightly in the fender wells that will leave you weak in the knees. Nor is it the custom, ceramic-coated, stainless steel headers that lead us to a set of 3” stainless steel exhaust system with badass electric cutouts to make your night even more fun. Perhaps it’s the Weiand EFI sitting atop this beast like a king on a throne. To be honest, it’s every. Damn. Thing. Perfectly routed hoses, serpentine belt system, Griffin aluminum radiator, and dual electric fans. All we know is that this thing means business and will look damn good while kickin’ ass on the boulevard. All that power and majesty is transferred through 2 additional gears, 6 total, of a slap-happy Tremec T56 manual transmission. Giving you the benefit of overdrive when you’re done with the big block overkill. At the rear, we have a Dana 44 loaded with 3.55:1 gears turning the IRS tubes. And the fun doesn’t stop there. Make sure to check the photos loaded with upclose shots of that custom cold air system!
The straightforward styling combined with this lethal drivetrain that will make for a hell of a drive anytime you hit the key in this Corvette. Make sure you’re the one who wins the keys on this really bitchin’ car!
