Perhaps it was the late nights at Excalibur Auto, as Todd Redenshek turned wrenches and listened to the subtle promptings of the evil one while he built this incredible machine. A build so meticulous that it would take nearly fifteen years to complete. If this weekly spec proves anything, it’s that the Devil is patient and the results are sinister.

A Wicked Design
The 1971 Plymouth ‘Cuda is already an icon in the automotive world. Its muscular styling and radical performance on the track, both in straight-line runs and in Trans Am racing, have made it one of the most valuable muscle cars ever. So how do you make something so special even better? It’s all in the final touch. The Plymouth door handles were shaved and electric door locks installed to make this evil build glide through your nightmares. Bumpers were shaved, the rear valance was welded into a seamless one-piece, and the glass was flush mounted. Clean and mean was the goal. But what do you drape a silhouette of unholy intentions in to ensure that all see and worship your build? An eye-popping “Wicked Green Apple” paint with a hand-painted pin stripe running the rear quarter with the sinister HEMI logo to ensure everyone knows this isn’t the machine to mess with.
If the Devil knows anything, they know that attitude and swagger are everything. And in the automotive world, attitude and swagger are set by your wheels and stance. Boy does this ‘Cuda have the right ones! Staggered Billet Specialties wheels fill these custom fender wells with high-performance BFGoodrich G-Force T/A tires, 295/45/R20 in the rear and 225/45/R18 up front. The car is lowered and leveled out to finish out the perfect look.
We’d be remiss to assume that the devil, in all their hedonistic passion, would not demand their interior to be just as unique and perfectly tailored as the exterior. That’s why Restylers City Inc. pulled out all stops by first wrapping 2004 Pontiac GTO seats, rear bench, and door panels in custom black and grey leather. And if the Evil One wants anything, it’s power. Therefore, all seats and windows are now powered.
On the road to hell, the driver grips a custom leather steering wheel mounted to a tilt column. The dash is fully custom, featuring LED Auto Meter gauges in a stunning brushed aluminum finish. A Hurst shifter waits for you to drop in to “D” for damnation and to hit the road. Of course, we have AC ready to help keep you cool on your descent and, perhaps, the most important upgrade in the cabin, a cup holder.
The 426 “Hellephant”
Wickedness abounds beneath the hood with the entire bay drenched in “Wicked Green Apple”. A custom air intake and shroud sit atop the most legendary of engines, a GEN II 426 Hemi. Cast in the fires of hell sometime in the 70’s, this is the holy grail of evil motors and rated at 465 horsepower. All those hellfire ponies run through a Torqueflite 727 transmission that splits the gears courtesy of a Gear Vendors overdrive unit. A beastly Ford 9” rear end handles all that power and ignites the tires. Wild demons howl through a set of heat-wrapped long-tube headers and echo through a 3” Borla exhaust.
What Lies Beneath
The green oozes through every inch of this ride, from top to bottom, and each suspension component is coated as well. The road to hell is paved with bad intentions, so TVC coilovers, four-link suspension, and rack and pinion steering are entrusted to get you there in one piece. A 4-wheel Wilwood brake system brings you to a fiery stop with 12” and 14” rotors at the corners.
Coming For It All
Hell’s Hemi has entered and won some of the most prestigious car shows known to man, 28 of them to be exact. Like an obedient hell hound, she follows her master’s commands and dominates all events she enters.
